BIOGRAPHY
Roberto Goliszewski was born in Frederico Westphalen, Rio Grande do Sul. He began studying piano in 1991, at the age of 19, when he enrolled in the Bachelor of Music program at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. During this period, between 1993 and 1994, he was mentored by Professor Vera Portinho Vianna. The following year, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he studied with several teachers in that city. Two years later, in 1996, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Music at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in the piano class of Professor Luis Henrique Senise.
He studied piano with private lessons from Dirce Bauer Knijnik from 2000 to 2003 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and with Lílian Farinha de Almeida from 2003 to 2005 in Londrina, Paraná. Under the latter's guidance, he won awards in the following piano competitions:
- 2nd Place - 23rd Rosa Mística Latin American Competition, Curitiba-PR (2004)
- 2nd Place - 10th Orestes Farinello National Piano Competition, Anápolis-GO (2004)
- 2nd Place - 5th Maestro Rodrigo Tavares National Piano Competition, Cubatão-SP (2004)
- 2nd Place - 22nd Paulo Giovanini Piano Competition, Araçatuba-SP (2005)
- 2nd Place - 5th Piano Competition, Francisco Beltrão-PR (2006)
During his piano training, he participated in master classes with the following teachers: Stela Caldi (Brazil), Edmundo Hora (Brazil), Olga Kiun (Russia), Elgin Roth (Germany), Edward Eikner (USA), José Alberto Kaplan (Brazil), Eva-Maria Alexandre (England), Marco Antonio de Almeida (Germany), Fernado Corvisier (Brazil), Rudolf Kehrer (Austria), and Dominique Merlet (France).
In 2000, he served as accompanist for the choir of the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS) in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul.
From 2006 to 2007, he taught vocal technique workshops for the choir of the Integrated Regional University (URI), Frederico Westphalen Campus, Rio Grande do Sul. From 2014 to 2015, he was a columnist for the newspaper “O Alto Uruguai,” in Frederico Westphalen, Rio Grande do Sul, conveying to the layman in classical music, approaches to theoretical-musical issues and strategies that seek to understand the musical experience as a whole, mainly involving the reader with the direct experience of listening to music. This work was resumed in 2022 and continues to this day.
In 2009, he completed his Master's degree in Interpretive Practices at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with a research topic on the life and work of Brazilian composer Henrique Oswald. At the same institution, alongside his master's degree, he completed the composition course, Counterpoint and Fugue Course.
From 2015 to 2021, through a public competition, he held the positions of Piano and Music History teacher at the Chapecó School of Arts in Santa Catarina, a school administered by the Chapecó City Hall.
During Music Week, an event promoted by this institution, he taught short courses on various subjects: Aspects of Piano Technique (2015); Experimental Harmony (2016); Fundamentals of Lyric Singing (2016); Piano Technique According to the Treatise by Antônio de Sá Pereira (2017). Also at this educational establishment, in 2017, he served as Coordinator of the Music Department.
He also completed two degrees: Teacher Training for Basic and Professional Education (Bachelor's Degree), IFRS, Campus Sertão, in Rio Grande do Sul, which he began in 2014 and completed in mid-2017. And a Bachelor's Degree in Music, Claretiano University Center, which he began and completed in 2020.
From early 2022 to the present, he has been fulfilling a contract signed with the Municipal Secretariat of Education and Culture of Frederico Westphalen, in Rio Grande do Sul, working as a singing teacher in schools for low-income families. In this role, he also conducts and composes songs that are performed by the Municipal Children's and Youth Choir. These songs are based on research topics provided by the students themselves.
He taught the following piano masterclasses: In 2023, to students enrolled in Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. And in 2025, to students at the Rosa Mística Music School in Curitiba, Paraná.
As a pianist, he has performed recitals at the Sala da Congregação/UFRJ (RJ), Sala Sebastian Benda/UFSM (RS), Foyer Nobre at Theatro São Pedro (RS), Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana (RS), Museu de Arte Moderna (RJ), Escola de Artes de Chapecó (SC), Auditorium Tasso Corrêa/UFRGS (RS), Centro Cultural Justiça Federal (RJ), Simili Música (SC), and Escola de Música Rosa Mística in Curitiba (PR).
He has also devoted himself to composition and focused his musicological studies on research related to the work of composer Henrique Oswald.
